Van Gogh Inspired Flowers

2nd grade just finished flower drawings inspired by the artist Vincent Van Gogh.  We looked at Van Gogh's sunflower painting and talked about how it was different than some of the ways we draw flowers sometimes.  We talked about overlapping and placement of flowers to make them look more realistic.  Here are some great examples!

Still Life Drawing

5th grade worked on drawing things from real life.  We talked about focusing on the lines and shapes they saw, instead of trying to draw the objects from memory.  They had an object at each table and had a certain amount of time to draw each object, then rotated tables to draw different objects.
