Painted Ceiling Tiles

 5th graders have been busy this year painting ceiling tiles.  We painted tiles around the school and also in the art room.  Here are some examples of the tiles in the art room.  I let the students work in groups of 3-5 and I let them choose a famous artwork to re-create.  They look awesome! I can't wait to get my entire ceiling filled with paintings!

Aborigines Paintings

 3rd Grade just finished studying about the Aborigines people of Australia.  They looked at their 'dot' paintings.  We made our own Aborigines artwork and chose animals from Australia to draw.  They turned out really neat!

Pussy Willows

1st grade just finished their Pussy Willow paintings. We talked about symmetry when we cut our vase out. I let the students decorate their vase with lines and patterns. We made straight lines for our stems then I had the students dip their pointer finger in grey paint. They put fingerprints all the way up the stems. I told them to print one on the right and one on the left, all the way up each one. Then, they made a small white fingerprint at the bottom of each grey print. I love how they turned out!
